The Department of Physics offers degrees both in Physics and Engineering Physics, and exciting opportunities including research at world-class facilities such as US national laboratories and abroad.

At New Mexico State University, You have options to earn a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Physics, and a Master of Science or Doctoral degree in Physics. The Department of Physics is also home to the Engineering Physics program where you can earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics.

Our Mission

The mission of the Physics program at New Mexico State University is to offer a degree preparing our graduating students for careers in a variety of scientific and technical areas as well as for graduate study in physics and related fields.

Physics Program Outcomes

The Department of Physics expects our graduates to acheive program outcomes necessary for becoming subject matter experts.
