Dr. Thomas Hearn

Dr. Hearn is known for his work in seismic tomography and its application to regional tectonic problems. Tomography is an imaging method most commonly known for its application in medial "CAT-scans". However, in seismic tomography the data sources are earthquakes. Seismic tomography reconstructs the sonic velocity structure of the earth and this can be interpreted in the context of regional tectonics.
